Merry Christmas!

May all your Christmas' be
merry and bright!

One of the items on my bucket list is to have a Christmas card featuring my puppies...with my hubby reading 'Twas The Night Before Christmas to them in front of the tree.

Apparently, it's going to be an ongoing goal for the next umpteen years.

This year I VICTORIOUSLY achieved the following:
  • All three dressed in "matchy" sweaters
  • All three looking at "mostly" the same thing
  • All three "in" the same chair, "close" together
  • They are indeed in front of "a" decorated tree :)
After getting 9 shots, a small war broke out because the sweaters were itchy and patience was already very thin.  But for this brief moment in time, our sweet puppies put their hatred of sweaters, each other, and pictures aside because my husband was dangling chicken over the camera...and my head.

**no puppies were hurt in the war, as it was mostly running and skidding**

the weekend...

...was over  too fast.

Chris went hunting on Friday night and I headed down to Athens.  I don't mind the drive since it always takes me to something fun, and Friday didn't disappoint.  There was a ton of traffic both when I went down and when I came home, which I thought was strange.

I had CPR training class on Saturday so I took off from work.  It felt so good to type that.  Off from work.  off from work.  offfffff fffffrrrooooommmmm work!  My career as a newspaper woman is about to come to an end and I'm looking forward to it.  But that is a whole other post for a whole other day. :)

CPR was awesome, at the Highlands and with great Highlands people.  Does it bring you comfort to know that I can now give you CPR and on your children and infants and do some basic first aid?  I'm really, really good at it.  I spent the better part of a Saturday learning how.

Afterwards, I headed on down to Sam's with my maw and paw.  Then over to Michael's and finishing up at the Home Depot.  I was able to get some of my Christmas shopping done and get a few great items for my next endeavor  (which again, is a whole other post).

I grabbed a quick nap before work and then  headed in, bundled up like an eskimo.  It was 28 degrees in Murrayville.  2.8. degrees.  AKA - BELOW freezing.  Not at all a fun night.  Add to the temperature, a late truck, getting the cold shoulder, and a time change and you've got one helluva night.  Which then in turn lead to me getting home at 6am, passing out, and waking up at 3:25 pm, rolling over and going right back to sleep until 6:15.  I actually feel rested.  This week hasn't been anything but a long series of doing stuff and then taking a nap and doing more stuff.   Next week looks just as full, and honestly I was dreading it.  However, after that sleep I looked at the calendar and it looked manageable.

Which leads us to the present.   Where I must tell everyone goodnight and happy tomorrows.  And then get up and head in to work.  ahhh, the cycle never ends.

a quick welcome note

Welcome to the world baby boy!

The family of fish has welcomed their third today and boy did this one hit the jackpot.  He's got an awesome mom who's been floating around in my life since elementary school and from the pictures on the family's blog - a pretty awesome dad who will be a great help on projects!

check out these stats: 7 pounds 1 ounce, arrived at 7:10 and his birthday is 11-7-10.

To the Critter:  you are gonna have the best time!  God has great plans for your family and for you. :)

It's finally here!

So, it's finally here!  The blog of all blogs.  The blog to end all blogs.  Well, not really.  But it's finally here.  The story of The Carrigan's.  Chris, Ashley, Floyd, Phoenix, and Ally.

Why is the blog named Karrigan with a "K"?
Short answer - The phone company is dumb.
Long answer - The phone company is dumb and for over 2 years we have been "inadvertently misplaced" in our local phone book, trying unsuccessfully numerous times to be "replaced" in  the correct location.  The last person just said "I'd just deal with it if I were you."

So, we've decided to deal with it.  Embrace it.  Love it. Forgetta bout it!

Plus with the "K" I can be more like the Kardashians.  Big booty and all. :)

I doubt my blog will be world famous and I certainly don't want to give The Pioneer Woman a run for her money.  But I do have stories to tell, thoughts to think on, and free time aplenty. So what better way than to share it all?
